Another chapter

These last few weeks have really flown by. I've been traveling quite a bit this year (basically every week: Orlando, DC (2x), Big Sky, Vegas,) which means that Lorrie has a lot of solo time with Gavin. She's doing an amazing job, despite the sleep deprivation. She has also started back seeing a few kids through First Steps - not an easy transition. We're happy to have found a nanny by the recommendation of one of neighbors, and Gavin is slowing getting used to having someone else watching him. On the development front, Gavin continues to impress us with his skills all the time: great sitting balance, head control, grasping, reaching. On the sleeping front, things are not so good. He really just hates sleeping. We keep joking that "tonight will be the night" that he sleeps longer than 2-3 hours at a time. No such luck yet - at least on even a semi-regular basis. He's started eating cereal off and on, which we think will help sustain him a bit longer between meals. It is also very messy, but quite cute (check out the video below).

In other news, we decided to launch a website for our neighborhood (hosted on my home webserver, of course). We thought it would fun to have a place to connect online, especially since winter makes it much less fun to be outside. We posted flyers around and are hoping that other folks join in.
